We’re a salvage and cleanup operation running crews both at home and abroad in conjunction with other contracts. We do regular salvage work for Interstellar Expeditions. Cryptid Crawlers operates according to the local laws of the operation and the guidelines of the Interstellar Archaeological and Anthropological Society (IAAS).

About Us

We were founded on a ‘lost’ planet, no contact via ComStar, only sporadic contact via traders who knew we were here, traders who saw the functioning satellite system, and pirates.

Like so many salvage operations, we had our humble beginning as a pure survival operation. Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

Well, with that outlook, it’s not long before someone scrounges up a (mostly) functioning StarLeague-era Scavenger SC-V from the gods only know where. The rest, as they say, is history.

We eventually made contact with a nearby system for semi-regular trade for goods and materials, and protection under the Canopan banner. We have even recently become proud and loyal customers of ComStar (we pay our bills on time, please keep sending our messages!)

With the acquisition of what is now Cryptid Cabbage Works, we were able to upgrade our salvage mechs and recover security and battle mechs to defend our operations on the ground locally and abroad. We are now able to salvage and repair most kinds of mechs, and repair or recycle most electronics, plastics, metals, and building materials.

With the recent acquisition of a Jabberwocky, we hope to be able to do some small-scale cleanup of biohazardous and nuclear sites to improve planetary outlooks and living conditions in post-battle locations.

• Scavenger SC-V 'Petunia' She's our original! She doesn't look like much anymore, and probably more replacement parts than originals, but like her more recent descendent the Vampyre, she gets the job done just the same.

• Defiance 'Zilla 'Running' is a strong term for this old boy. He's fully operational, but hard to get or machine parts for, and we generally just take him for a few turns around the yard during parties and when we need an extra pair of hands near the shop. One of our coolest and oldest mechs.

Our loadouts may vary depending on mission specs and what's currently in the repair bays/recent salvage.

Cryptid Cabbage Works

Cryptid Cabbage Works is what brings a lot of this together. The 'make it do' part of the equation. Formerly a factory and warehouse, it's been expanded to be a mech bay, garage, workshop, and all around makerspace.

Not much here at this time! We don't have a lot of mechs as salvage at this time to trade, but we do have some cash available to purchase! We are looking for: a Hunchback and an Enforcer for our battlemech side, a Pike AC/5 Tracked vehicle, and we're in the market for a new to us drop ship.

Cryptid Crawlers and Cryptid Cabbage Works were inspired by my sib-from-another-crib Ian, who is my fellow scrungly Industrial Mech enthusiast and Periphery dweller, as well as this thread from Reddit about a FriendlyTech gameplay alternative where we're the cleanup crew after the battles are all done.
