My Little Pile of Silliness

I decided to add this so that people can contact me, or decide if they actually want to before getting around to contacting me. I'm a lurker by nature, I get it.

SO here goes: my name is Tanwen, my pronouns are she/her. I'm queer, I've seen half a century, I have an amazing partner (who got me into Battletech) and a cute dog. I fight with swords, crochet, play boardgames, make costumes, and these days I kinda do what I want.

I play Battletech for fun, I'm not particularly good, but I'm here for the entertainment.

I am also chronically ill- I have an incurable headache that I occasionally moan on about that unfortunately does impact my life significantly. I moan on less than I used to, I currently have management medicine that is working pretty well, as well as a rescue medication that actually works! I'm more salty about the doctors that failed me than the headache, to be honest.*

I've been around for a while, I've been in a lot of fandoms (but never one that was as masc or transfemme as this one, it's been lovely, thank you!)

I have a Battletech conspiracy theory that there are only about 150 Taurians, and that any other numbers you hear are inflated by the Taurians themselves, backed up by drones, fireships, and nukes OR by made up by FedSuns trying desperately to pretend that they aren't being beat up by 150 Taurians, or to allow them to inflate their armies to defeat the vast number of Taurians. The Taurians just want to be left alone, and not become the Taurian Marches of the Federated Suns.

I am, in fact, responsible for half of the filling of that Solaris Sandwich. I got greedy. My boyfriend took advantage. At least it was funny. The GM was mortified.

*Yes, it's Long Covid, and a lot of chronic illnesses are caused by the long term effects of viral infections. I am not a doctor, but I don't do woo bullshit either. There's help to be had, and sometimes your doctor doesn't have the time or inclination to learn about those resources.
